Memories aren’t new to an 80+ year old man, but until recently I never considered the possibility that I had dozens of life stories to tell. This project started simply enough – I was asked to write a memory of growing up in Wisconsin.
As I wrote, my story brought a new memory, and that memory brought more—until memories flowed like a river. Hardships and humor, love and lessons learned…I now have dozens of memory stories to share and will do so here every Monday for as long as they keep coming.
My look into the rear-view mirror brings new appreciation of family and friends. Many of these stories will tell of interactions between me, my grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins. We had disagreements, but we never stopped loving each other. There were sad times, but so many good times that happy memories flow nonstop.
I hope you enjoy these Monday Memories and that they inspire you to reflect fondly on your own stories and memories of the people, places and events that made you who you are today.
